Psychoeducational Group

September 7-September 30

Are you currently in individual therapy and looking to expand your knowledge of the effects of trauma in order to more effectively work through your trauma?

Our trauma psychoeducational group provides deep understanding of the complexities of trauma. In this group, you will learn about how trauma affects your body, brain, sense of self, and your relationships. We are currently enrolling for our September 7th group.

*PLEASE NOTE: This is a trauma educational group, not a process group.*

Dr. Jon Allen Joins Our Group!

Our psychoeducation group is based off information from Dr. Jon Allen's book "Coping With Trauma; Hope through Understanding", and other sources.

Dr. Jon Allen, author of "Coping With Trauma: Healing Through Understanding" will now lead the last session, "Hope and Trust," in our psychoeducational group! He approaches both of these topics from the perspective of the challenges that trauma creates in maintaining hope and being able to trust.

Dr. Jon Allen is a Clinical Professor as a member of the Voluntary Faculty in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the Baylor College of Medicine. Dr. Allen has 40 years of experience working with trauma and has authored several books on processing and coping with trauma, such as Coping with Trauma: From Self-Understanding to Hope, Coping with Depression: From Catch-22 to Hope, and Mentalizing in Clinical Practice. Dr. Allen has been a contributor and consultant to us since our founding.

Psychoeducation is an evidence-based therapeutic intervention for patients and their loved ones that provides information and support to better understand and cope with illness.
